Cwricwlwm newydd i Gymru

Dyma gyfnod cyffrous i bobl ifanc Cymru. Mae Cwricwlwm newydd i Gymru ar y gweill fydd yn ennyn brwdfrydedd dysgwyr o 3 i 16, gan roi iddynt y sylfaen sydd ei angen i lwyddo mewn byd sy'n newid.

A new curriculum for Wales

This is an exciting time for the young people of Wales. A new Curriculum for Wales is coming that will enthuse learners from 3 to 16, giving them the foundations they need to succeed in a changing world

Mae’n amser cyffrous i ysgolion Cymru. Mae gan bob ysgol y cyfrifoldeb o ysgrifennu cwricwlwm sy’n bersonol iddynt erbyn 2022. Cwricwlwm ysgol ydy cynllun ar gyfer beth fydd plant a phobl ifanc yn ei ddysgu yn yr ysgol. Mae’n dweud: - Beth ddylen nhw ddysgu, sut ddylen nhw ddysgu a’r rhesymau pam ddylen nhw ddysgu. Rydym yn barod yn gweithio tuag at ddatblygu ein cwricwlwm cyffrous yma yn Ysgol Parc y Tywyn. Mae yna lawer o agweddau amrywiol i ystyried wrth ddylunio’n cwricwlwm newydd, gweler isod am fwy o wybodaeth.

Y pedwar diben

Pwrpas cwricwlwm yw galluogi dysgwyr i ddatblygu fel:

• dysgwyr uchelgeisiol, galluog, sy'n barod i ddysgu gydol eu bywydau
• cyfranwyr mentrus, creadigol sy'n barod i chwarae rhan lawn mewn bywyd a gwaith
• dinasyddion egwyddorol, gwybodus yng Nghymru a'r byd
• unigolion iach, hyderus sy’n barod i fyw bywyd cyflawn fel aelodau gwerthfawr o gymdeithas

Y meysydd dysgu a phrofiad

Rhaid i'r chwe maes dysgu a phrofiad canlynol (Maes/Meysydd) gael eu hadlewyrchu mewn cwricwlwm a fabwysiedir.

• Y Celfyddydau Mynegiannol.
• Iechyd a Lles.
• Y Dyniaethau.
• Ieithoedd, Llythrennedd a Chyfathrebu.
• Mathemateg a Rhifedd.
• Gwyddoniaeth a Thechnoleg.

Fe fydd sgiliau Llythrennedd, Rhifedd a Chymwysedd digidol yn cael eu haddysgu ar draws pob Maes Dysgu a Phrofiad.

Elfennau gorfodol cwricwlwm
Yn ogystal a’r uchod, bydd y canlynol yn elfennau gorfodol o gwricwlwm.

• Crefydd, gwerthoedd a moeseg.
• Addysg cydberthynas a rhywioldeb.
• Cymraeg.
• Saesneg.

It is an exciting time for school across Wales. Every school has a responsibility to write a curriculum that is personal to them by 2022. A school curriculum is a plan for what children and young people will learn at school. It says: - What they should learn, how they should learn and the reasons why they should learn. We are already working towards developing our exciting new curriculum in Ysgol Parc y Tywyn. There are many aspects to consider when designing our new curriculum, please see below for more information:

The four purposes
The purpose of a curriculum is to enable learners to develop as:

• ambitious, capable learners, ready to learn throughout their lives
• enterprising, creative contributors, ready to play a full part in life and work
• ethical, informed citizens of Wales and the world
• healthy, confident individuals, ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society

The areas of learning and experience
The following six areas of learning and experience (Area/Areas) must be reflected in the adopted curriculum.

• Expressive Arts.
• Health and Well-being.
• Humanities.
• Languages, Literacy and Communication.
• Mathematics and Numeracy.
• Science and Technology.

Literacy, numeracy and Digital competency skills will be taught across each of the 6 Areas of Learning. 

Mandatory curriculum elements
In addition to the above, the following will be mandatory curriculum elements.

• Religion, values and ethics.
• Relationships and sexuality education (RSE).
• Welsh.
• English.
